In the summer of 2017, a 12 meter long archaeological boat from the 15th century, was discovered and excavated by archaeologists from the Tromsø Museum and the Norwegian Maritime Museum in the sand of Hamnholmen harbour, on the island of Lovund.
By the great discovery, the island knew that they had to find a new home for the boat. VALRYGG studio has was assigned to design the new museum that will welcome visitors to explore the boat on the island where it was found.
