Due to the high number of visitors, the owner of the current hostel and camping site wishes to install a new restaurant building able to fulfill multiple needs of visitors and the unexpected high amount of guests.

In the middle of the forest, in front of the existing hotel building, the new Krokstrand restaurant is then shaped to host at the same time hostel guests for breakfast, tourists on the road for a meal, campers in need of a treat and family dinners. Krokstrand new restaurant receives the hosting facilities as well as a kitchen, a bar and different dining areas able to offer varied sitting combinations and possibilities.

The one-floor wooden pavilion is organized as a cluster around a glass covered patio, featuring the clearing in the forest. Facing the river and the mountains from the inside, the architecture allows the visitors to gaze at the surrounding landscape and recover from a long journey in a warm and accessible interior.

Krokstrand Restaurant

A breath on the road, a nest in the forest, a pause in the journey.

-A healing lodge under the trees-

At only one hour driving north from Mo i Rana, on the way to Lofoten Islands and Tromsø, Krokstrand camping and overnighting is the first break from the city crossing the mountain path toward Bodø and the rest of Northern Norway. Krokstrand is a meeting point for families traveling to the North, buses driving back to Oslo, truck drivers crossing the country or hikers for one day.
