Aperon Hotel opens in Copenhagen
VALRYGG studio has designed the newly opened hotel Aperon in the heart of Copenhagen city center. The historic square consists of three restored buildings, a courtyard, a rooftop, and a restaurant.
The project wants to honor the heritage of these buildings and we have kept the old architectural details throughout the project. The old windows have been restored and the old stairs are kept. VALRYGG studio created the name for the hotel; Aperon, which reflects the history of the site.
The Suhrs Seminarium and Household School, which was founded in 1901 by Ingeborg Suhr. It particularly concerned women of the better bourgeoisie. Today, the school is called Suhrs Højskole and is open to everyone.
The hotel project is a synergy between the historic and the current context – giving new life to the square. Aperon hotel is hosting its visitors with a warm Scandinavian feel as well as a contemporary urban atmosphere.
